Professional Pilot Bachelor Program

The outcome and training requirements of the program are set out in Regulation No. 18/2016 (VIII. 5.) by the Ministry of Human Resources (EMMI) (hereinafter referred to as: KKK). The training programs of University of Debrecen includes the regulations of KKK and its effectively implemented, annually updated and corrected curriculum and schedule kept by Department of Air- and Road Vehicles at Faculty of Engineering.

The aim of the program is to train professional pilots who are familiar with air transportation, suitable for fulfilling the professional pilot’s job at firms, organizations operating aircrafts. Also, they are suitable for carrying out tasks related to air operation, ground handling, quality assurance, organizing and solving the transportation of cargo. They have completed the requirements of the Airline Transport Pilot, Aircraft (ATPA) integrated program.

Special Features of the Program

The prerequisite of application for the bachelor program is to have a successfully passed state-recognised complex intermediate English language exam (B2) or another equivalent university/college degree or high school diploma. – On the basis of the MED subheading in EU Act 1178/2011of 2011 (03/11/2011) Class 1 medical certificate is required. (medical examination).

A professional pilot bachelor’s degree itself does not entitle anyone to provide activities of a professional pilot.  The requirement of issuing a certificate of basic qualification is to obtain a pilot licence. A professional pilot and pilot licences can be acquired after passing accredited theoretical and practical exams at Aviation Administration of National Transport Authority.

Education is supported by the off-site Department of Flight Engineering (Pharma Flight International Science and Service Centre, Debrecen, Szatke Ferenc Str. 1).
